12 Hammer Fist, a treasure of Southern Shaolin, was created by respected high monk in the temple. This routine has 12 Hammer fists, mainly fierce attack. It was also called "Shaolin 12 Arhat". This program covered training methods, routine practice, & application demonstrations. Training method focused on Yijingjing (Muscle Tendon Changing Scripture). Routine practice consisted 12 movements. Movements were simple, fierce, powerful, & practical. Featuring to defeat opponent in one bow. The script says: "Southern Shaolin 12 Hammer Fist only taught in the temple; internally trained by Yijinging. externally trained by body-protection gong; Fist was full of strength and fierce and step on middle line; Beat opponents in one bow."
This form was created based on white crane fist, with imitation of crane flying, jumping, wing spreading, patting & more... It was named Flying Crane Fist, because of the exhaling sound and the inhaling raising movements. This program covered training methods, routine practice, & application demonstrations. Training methods were mainly on hand methods in the harmony of 5 elements associating with mardarin duck circling steps, breathing methods, & force-issuing methods. Routine practice consisted 3 Fight, 4 Gate, 8 Step. Hand methods were mainly hook, throw, point, hit, cover, press, cut, & spring. Body methods were mainly, sink & float, breathing, & arm skilss, like cranes patting tide with wings. It looks beautiful & elegant. Player should pay attention to pace of steps, that is two toes towards  inner position, so called "horse-package". The fighting skills is obvious, balanced between attack & defense, fierce force release. The script says, the most beautiful motion is crane flying, wing spreaking and jumping fly, when you give out force, you beat with arms shaking and aspirating and long screaming assisted.
