This stick routine was adopted by master Huang from Xiao MingKui's stick routine. It contains characteristics of traditional taiji requiring well combination of offence & defense, balance of Ying & Yang, & harmony of internal strength & external forms. "Chun" force is the basic force-issuing method. Qi flows naturally within the body. Most forms are using both hands to hold the stick. There are 13 basic skills, Tiao (pick), Pi (cut), Jia (frame), Sao (sweep), Ge (square), Liao (sprinkle), Dian (point), Ci (pierce), Jiao (hang), Ya (press), Ning (twist), Bo (poke). It helps taiji player to grab the essence of force issuing, body methods, & balance. It is also a good self-defense routine.
Taiji Push Hand Sparring is a practical 2-person training exercise of taiji forms. It uses 5 different skills of force usage as training methods. Its basic principle is "using softness against hardness", "attaching". Major techniques are Beng (fence), Le (rub one's palm along), Ji (squeeze), An (press), Cai (pick), Lie (list), zhou (elbow), Kao (lean). Major footwork: advance & retreat. Major eye method: Gu & Pan. "Center" is the major body method. It is an excellent training to enhance reaction & to expert the forms.
